New Years Eve

Hi,

I know it's ridiculously early but just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for New Years Eve events or campsites where children are welcome?

Stayed in Beirnes of Battlebridge last year where they had a banquet for adults and children, but would like to try somewhere else this year. Two of our friends have since bought Motorhomes hence the early enquiry.

Doesn't have to be a campsite by the way, happy to pull up anywhere with food, drink and a good atmosphere where we're all welcome!

Stayed in Battlebridge last year as stated above.

I'm looking for suggestions on somewhere to stay (as stated above), not for someone to organise a meet.

But thank you for your response.

Just to let others know that the Beach Bar in Aughris Head, Sligo has a free buffet and DJ organised for New Year's Eve for those that might be interested. They have EHU and showers, think it's €10 or €12 a night. Not sure what the buffet will be like but the seafood there is to die for.

Not sure yet if we'll go there as we have 5 children between us and our other motorhome friends, but this may be of interest to others.

The more the merrier! Mainly looking for somewhere we can bring the kids- Battlebridge was handy for that last year. Not sure if others here can recommend anywhere else they've spent NYE with children?

We always get away for the New Year and would love to meet up with a group interested in
having a good laugh and ring in the new year. Count us in if there is somewhere interesting
to go.

We went there last year and went to the hotel next door to ring in the new year, it was a disaster, there would be more atmosphere in a empty cattle mart that night. The site and town was alright.

Still exploring our options so made a few phone calls last night.

The Indian restaurant at the marina in Carlingford will stay open late NYE if they get the numbers so that could be another option for motorhomers.

Any suggestions around Galway?!

Hi Adi.
I have been following this thread for the last few weeks because we are interested in meeting up with a gang for New Years Eve. Like yourselves, we have a 10 and 11 year olds in tow. It will be hard to get somewhere that will not be too pubish but also on the other side most campsites will be a muck fest.
Another consideration would be to pick somewhere that is easily accessible by good roads in case the weather is crappy .
Having said that, I have put my thinking hat on and here is a few options.
Warren in curraghchase in Limerick can open up for a group meet during the winter,
Naill in powers of pot in Clonmel is another option but in last mile of road up to him is steep but he has the old pub as a meeting room.
I haven't contacted any of the above.

Nothing around galway that springs to mind,

Currachase has nice cycle tracks or walk paths that are safe for kids on bikes etc,
Other that that not a lot to do in currachase,
On a plus side for currachase, there is a nice stove in meeting room/coffee shop if the weather is cold out, and id guess 20 to 25 people will fill the room,
