Seen a similar thing this weekend in someone else's MH. It was caused by a deteriorating Leisure battery, could that be it?

Hi, I had a similar problem on my last M/H 1993 Autotrail, caused by low water level in the tank, when the tank got low and we were driving then stopped the pump wouldn't stop, put some water in pump stopped and returned to normal. I felt it was the system sucking air when the water is sloshing around, one solution we found was to only drive with pump turned off. Good Luck, Bill

If it is none of the above suggestions it could be a faulty micro switch in one of the taps.
This would be more difficult to locate so I would try all the other things first.

Hi John
my pump will run constantly if water level is low. It tries to keep the boiler full to avoid airlocks

John, yes our water pump would not switch off, when we swapped the battery with somone elses it turned off immediately, although the battery was grand on the lights but obviously didnt have enough power for the water pump. Also we thought our roof fan wasnt working, again it was just the crappy battery (it was 4yrs old)

The roof van is now miraculously working again.

Hello all ,The problem with the pump running all the time was a faulty kitchen tap switch.Changed the micro switch in the tap and all is well. Cost £4 in Downshire Caravans ,Banbridge,Co.Down.Thanks for all the replies,Cool :D

water pump noise

Hi there,
I've a carado a464 and I discovered that if the oven light was on so was the hum from the water pump.Turn off the light and the pump went silent. Obviously a wiring problem in the van. So try out all switches that are not even related to the water system. Good luck.
