Hi Mark. Just tried it on windows XP, worked first time. with a generic usb lead one.

QUESTION 1 what windows are you using.?

2. what version of poi loader I used 2.7.0 from here http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=927).

3. what garmin mine is Nuvi 250.

4. Try this first plug in garmin to computer first, wait about 30 seconds, then run poi loader, you should see where to save poi to, select the first option then click next. on the next screen you should see a tab called find Device, click this your device should show up.

p.s. if it works be careful on the third screen the option you select here will overwrite the poi's all ready on your unit.

let us know how you get on.

Thanks again

No joy.

I think it it the lead.

If my phone is plugged into the USB port it works fine.
Same port with the Garmin and the device shows it is connected but no sign of it on the pc..

I dont have vista, but try this
1. plug the cable into your unit, Do not switch it on,.
2. plug the other end into the computer your unit should power on.
3 Go to my computer from your desktop double click it you should see different Drive icons. C drive, etc. there should be one called garmin. try that

Thanks again Tom but that doesn't work.

I have been ttrying to get it to recognise the garmin as a drive but it isn't appearing. I think it is the lead

To be honest, the leads very seldom give trouble. Vista is knowing to be problematic with certain software.

If you have access to another computer preferably Xp Try the lead in that.
