as i use linux mint or linux light, its firefox for me but we have many engines duck duck go for another.

I don't like Google tracking me so I use Duck Duck go. (They don't record or track searches.) I only go to goggle if I can't find something on Duckduck. Goggle is much too powerful for my liking and I don't trust big brother. Paranoid me? You bet. If you knew how much Goggle harvest and then sell to others you would be to. :bandit:

How can you be sure they don't track you ? Personally I think that whenever you turn on the internet someone somewhere is keeping tabs on you. That's why I don't have aps on my phone, why do all of them want control of your camera, photos, contacts, etc etc ? Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

They track us for sure. Data mining is the new gold rush. There was a time when you could type a url into an address bar in your browser and be taken to a website without any search engine tracking you. Now all the main browsers, IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, lock in a search engine into address bars. Pretty sneaky. So I set Duck Duck Go as my default search engine as they ‘promise’ not to track or sell your search history. That said I still go to google to search explicitly. Just don’t get surprised when adverts for Hankook tyres pop up in the side bar of your browser, or whatever it is you were recently searching.
