Not sure if others have stayed here before?

Saw several signs for motorhome parking at the Termon complex yesterday when driving through Pettigoe.

Didn't actually get to see it. Contacted them today and they sent me the info attached. EHU and showers available. Might be useful to put on the app?

Thanks.

Did I read this right €17 per night but without ehu and showers €10?

I think Jamie it’s the following:
€17 per night with EHU
€10 per night without EHU
Showers are €3

That’s a lot for ehu, makes Solar panels a good bet and showers in the van.

I suppose they are calculating electrical use at absolute max on a 16a feed.
16x240=3840 Watts p/h = 3.8kwh
3.8kwh x say 10 hours = 38kwh

38kwh @ 0.19 cent per kWh = €7.22

On that basis the €7 is just short to cover that...... I know that is an almost worst case scenario but it leaves them covered in the eventuality of someone running the EHU full tilt.

I agree, solar panels and own showers are the way to go and leaves their overnight rate very reasonable.
Great to see new Aires popping up, definately opening the county up for motorhomers.

Agree it's expensive with EHU. But having seen people use 2 electric heaters, hair dryer etc I suppose they're covering themselves.

Anyway I've asked for more info about local facilities so we can get it on the app and possible discounts for MHC so she's going to come back to me today. I'll keep you posted.

I have seen this a few times, even at club meets, i seen one MH with 2 halogen (obvious by the bright glow from them) heaters in the awning when the occupants were in the function room/bar,
I said to him you left the heater on in the awning, his reply was "im paying for it so im using as much as i can"

So i cant blame some for charging €4 to €5 for EHU,

Thanks to Adih for seeking out and following up on this stop over👍

Slightly off topic, so apologies. I was surprised a few years back when I went to a site in Spain that charged more for EHU in winter months than summer months but it was to cover the electric heaters people use. We don’t use a portable electric heater in our MH or use an electric kettle, toaster etc, we rely on gas. This site didn’t allow you to stay without ehu, so we didn’t stay.

I’ve always been quite pragmatic on the campsite over ehu believing that it evens out with some only charging a few mobile devices in vw for example to big MHs who have everything on but I will not allow portable heating devices now in tents or awnings. This is in part to do with safety and in part to deal with people who take the “p*ss” and heat unoccupied paces.

Good to see another new aire and the choice not to have ehu makes it reasonably priced.

That's great Ally. I've been chatting online to Martina. Looking forward to hearing your review!

I'm editing my original post to include a further attachment regarding facilities.
