D'OH! Snapped the clutch cable...

Hello one and all! about 15k from home today after an overnight down to killarney - i pressed the clutch in and bang... the pedal hit the floor as the cable snapped...

What's my best next step?? is it possible to just replace the clutch cable? or should I go for a full clutch? 93 fiat ducato... and thanks in advance for your help.

Have heard of the little plastic clip that holds the cable to the top of the pedal to snap before,
Hope its as simple as that,
The lad that that happened to lives in athlone and said he was getting a spare (€30) to keep just incase it happened again, he has since sold the MH and may still have the clip if thats all thats gone, i can give him a ring if needed,

I had a torch handy and shone it down whilst driving and saw frayed steel cabling and my pedal resting against the floor.. so unfortunately it looks like I will need the full cable... Thanks for that though - in a way it's reassuring it's both not uncommon and hopefully not too hard to sort! CVRT next month so there's a loud countdown clock ticking in the background!!!
