Hi Ally,

Looking so forward to it . It seems a long time since we first thought about this idea. I will have to get a Craic sticker off you for it.

Pray for leniency as it seems to be a bit of a lottery, health to enjoy your new motorhome and many happy miles. Enjoy👍

Make sure you have all the paperwork original if possible , reg log book , manufacturers build certs ,bill of sale.vat recites. instruction manuals for everything . service and repair records for the Hab and engine /drive train ,how old are the tyres what mileage are on them.
Have the Guy show you what everything does and where everything is and that they are working.

best of luck barry the wing and hope you have plenty of happy miles in your new purchase, the 584 is a nice layout. i nearly went the germany route a few years back but the deal fell through so i`ll be interested on your journey from purchase to home! i might try again when the time comes for a bit of a climb up the years ladder because the selection is very good espically hymer.

From my limited knowledge, the vrt is approximately 13% of the open market value. In simple terms the value is set at Irish market selling price before haggling.
Insurance write offs are at the lower specrum of market value but the vrt boys are at the other end of valuations. It might be no harm to remove some items like solar panels, etc or mattress or give the MH a trashed look.
You can argue with revenue that to "do up" the MH ,they will collect the vat on such things.
