True...... but us northerners have a fair grasp of the Derry lingo !
Funny in an ironic way, how “normal” the military and checkpoints were, even the bombs !..... many times I was stopped and checked..... thankfully gone now and both my kids in their 20’s know nothing off it !
Sort of a silly slapstick comedy with colorful language and a great take on the “Derry wans” Hi !

Not seen it yet but was listening to the girl that wrote it on the radio, very interesting. Plan to use catchup to view it.

Did Columba know what he was going to leave behind when he wild camped in the oak grove? We have had Gaelic,Scotch,English,Welsh settlers and in and after the last war American,Canadian,French Dutch Portugese and now from subcontinents ,even as far as Ballybofey, is any wonder people find it hard to understand us . But we still love the old city with the walls and beneath the skin each other

Thought it was hilarious and cleverly did give a glimpse of what daily life was like for everyone.
I'm hoping I'll get better at understanding the accent and lingo.
I noticed that ch 4 had glossary of Derry words online...

The author said on the radio that was ch4's idea and she thought it a good one. Channel4 took a risk because of the accents but they thought it was too good not to record/air.
