I was just sitting here wondering, as you do, what does everyone dine off in their motorhomes. Bone china, melamine, plastic, enamel, stainless steel, takeaway containers or what ?

Bought a melamine set when we got the motorhome but after the first trip two proper mugs and a proper teapot were put in the van. The plates don't bother me but tea just isn't the same from the melamine cups,

Use melamine for plates and cups but we have china mug too, melamine is fine but as we drink black tea it badly stains ...(color red inside) any ideas how to clean...salt? Bleach?. We have a lovely electric kettle and a green silicone/stainless steel squash down kettle when no EHU.
Before leaving home/campsite we fill a flash for a quick cuppa enroute. One small saucepan and a deep sided non-stick frying pan with lid.
Rarely use the oven. Sometimes bring the electric pressure cooker though it does take up space. We have a toaster. Never use the BBQ at home or away, but it still comes with us, Incase we get incredible weather.

we boil water we put in flash

it never ceases to amaze me how basic our setup is when I'm looking through responses :') we've just got normal plates and 2 x camping mugs that were bought mainly because they say "I'm a happy camper" on them and were €1.50...! I've commissioned her good self to knit separators for the presses though - the clattering of delf is high up on my list of things to smooth over this winter!!

Real mugs (MHC ones of course) and real plates.
Also fill a flask from kettle in morning so a cuppa always there if needed.
Small Argos slow cooker when on EHU is a handy edition to the kitchen. Fill up, switch on and out for the day.... meal ready when we get back.

I have a mix of real cups [because you have to have a proper tea], plastic plates and some camping stuff.

Glass would probably be a big no-no, except for wine maybe, but I don't do wine, so...

Replaced the melamine hate the stuff ,( set of 4 if anyone them ) with some pottery ,you can't beat the sound of a fork on a real plate, think Rick Stein at the end of his cookery shows.

Bought a set of Melamine and hated it. Use same as home.
Have some disposable plates and cups for snack if on route somewhere so no need for wash up.

“Knitted separators”....we use that non slip rubber mesh stuff between the things that rattle...plates, around cutlery.
Though I do a lot of knitting too 😀

We started out with melamine but decided that real plates and cups were much better and it's not like we were at the weight limit... But we have melamine cereal bowls, and quickly decided that only glass works for wine 🍷
Also have a great set of Aldi camping pots with a rmoveable handle and carry an electric kettle one toaster for when we are on EHU. And fill a flask when we're leaving a site.... Amazing how many things that you accumulate!

Had an uncle who was in a bar one night and his drinking buddy complained that his glass was a bit dirty.
The uncle stated profoundly that he would drink Guinness out of a Wellington Boot, if he had to.
Don't know if he preferred tea from plastic, ceramic or crystal!

Ah c'mon. It's only brown water with either sugar or milk or both to make it palatable. What's the big deal with what you drink it from.

Definitely normal cups /plates, glasses are very important ,I like a good beer glass.
The breakage rate determines the sort of wine glass, the ones that fit well in the storage holes
Last the longest.
I do the washing up and I do not like plastic.
My "Guinness" glass has lasted about 8 years now -

Two half pint cups/mugs for the tea and coffee.
Two wine glasses wrapped in a tea towel for the relaxation effort.
The plates, bowls, regular glasses are plastic from either Lidl or Aldi, part of their summer picnic range which is peddled after Easter each year. We change them every year as they do scratch easily plus my wife keeps up with the latest colour trends.
One whistling kettle for the gas along with a saucepan with 2 streamer add on for spuds and veg.
Somewhere on amazon/ebay /pigback my wife fell across a frying pan about 18 inches square but it has been divided into about 5 sections. Its brilliant for the breakfast sandwich because the bake beans don't run under the rashers.

It's amazing how you can whettle down to the essentials when you need the space.

When we got the van first I bought so much crap that I thought was going to be the bees knees. After a while of use you end up getting rid of it and just keeping what you need to free up the space.
