ADAC closed to non German memebers

I thought it best to start a new thread with this bad news. I just heard from ADAC that from October 1st they are no longer acepting members unless you live in Germany. So time to gind an alternative.

I have my annual breakdown insurance with Saga. Not sure if they take customers from ROI. They provide cover for those aged 50+. The policy name is Motorhome Assistance Plus, it does not have a size restriction, weight restriction is 7.5 tonnes. Cost £95 for the year.

Yes, I was in contact with ADAC today in connection with upcoming travel plans and it was confirmed to me that since October 1st. they are not accepting any new business from non Germany residents.

The bit of good news is that existing clients will be able to continue their cover indefinitely, subject to paying the renewal premium of course.

Well,
Following my email by suggested means to ADAC, I received this reply this morning regarding future ADAC membership outside Germany. The scheme is now closed for new business outside Germany.

Dear Members & interested Persons,

unfortunately from the 1st of October 2017 the ADAC Mobile Club in Germany is not allowed to take out any new memberships for interested people with a residence outside from Germany.

For existing Members is it still possible to renew the existing breakdown cover insurance over the phone and stay as a member in ADAC Mobile Club.

It has been all quiet on the big Uk forums, so I guess that unless you have a continuing membership then the answer is no. Mind you it is worth an email or phone call to confirm the situation.

If you have it dont let it expire!

If you are UK based then there is Britannia who will cover motorhomes up to a certain size etc
