We have stopped on the quay in Westport, but.... it was out of season and not busy.
There is no parking signs there now and a height barrier into the park that we once used.
Probably options on the road south out of town, intend to travel that way soon and intend to Wild if possible or approach a pub slightly out of town for a possible stop. Let us know if you find anything and could be another option for that part of the world.

Hoping to Climb Croagh PAtrick on the last Sunday in July and was wondering if there was anywhere near the bottom of the reek we could park overnight and start the climb in the morning without having to move. The official carpark has a barrier up so that's a non runner

We parked up last night at the quays and no problems. There were about 10 vans that stayed overnight. As usual you always get one idiot. A guy in a rental van who parks up with rear of van overhanging and completely blocking the footpath which drew some looks from pedestrians.

There is usually a few campers parked up along the road in a wide hard shoulder which has a bus stop across from Campbells Pub at the foot of Croagh Patrick. It is on the opposite side of the road to the official car park but you would probably need to be there a day or 2 before "Reek Sunday" as it is crazy with traffic and parking that weekend there. People usually start climbing from the night before and it is a terrible day to climb as it is very crowded. A regular week day is best or if you want to get mass on the top you can climb it on August 15th. Usually its a lot quieter that day.

Anyone know if you can still park in the Westport Leisure Centre. Might be in that area end of March and main campsite is closed until Easter. Not many other options on the app.
