Thetford Toilet

Installed in my campervan is a Thetford C200CS toilet, for some reason the flush is more or less refusing to work, only a dribble of water appearing, no pressure. The water is supplied from the same tank and pump for the bathroom and kitchen which both work fine, having read various forums including Thetfords, could this be the magnetic valve at fault and If so where is it? As anyone had a similar problem The Thetford toilet is I think still under warranty but if easy fix would save a bit of bother leaving in somewhere.

Possibly a silly question, but can you hear the pump working when the dribble comes through? Have you checked the connection between pump and loo for leakage?

The way I did it was, Bring up thetford site, down at the bottom click on service infomation, next click cassette toilets and then the page of the manuals for c200 or click on the movies for the appropiate part. hope this works.

Mine was doing the same recently & I got it fixed as part of habitation check/service - it was a faulty switch. Was cUsing poor pressure in the toilets & shower while the kitchen sink was fine - both feeding off the same pump so I knew the issue was local to the bathroom.

Hi Guys, Many thanks for all your input, I've researched this problem and possible outcome will be to call the experts, gavster1 mentions that his similar problem was a faulty switch, do you know what switch and where it is positioned. Once again thanks to all for your help I will let you know final out come.

Denboye, as I said the experts fixed it but I believe it was a switch on the tap. The pump would kick in but only a dribble from the toilet every time & the shower tap on the same line was pretty poor too. I had found several possible solutions but didn't want to spend money replacing a part that was fine. If I wasn't getting bigger work done to the van (replacement boiler & hab check) I would probably have had a go at it myself. I just checked the receipt from LTS and it has noted " shower pressure - faulty switch. Replace switch on tap & check wiring & clean shower head". Replacing the switch on the tap has solved my toilet flush & shower. For extra flush pressure I placed a small clear plastic dowel in the outlet in the toilet & it is like putting your finger on the end of a hose. Water flys the whole way round the bowl with lots of pressure. I spotted that tip on a post somewhere recently & tried it out.
