Would anyone have any suggestions re a stopover between Bushmills and Trabolgan preferably south of Dublin. I have looked at Silken Thomas but they say they aren't allowing stopovers anymore unless anyone has used them recently. We are travelling Easter Sunday and then again to Cork Ferry port in August and wanted somewhere to stop for a bite to eat for us and 2 kids.

The car park at Tesco beside the Kildare Village Outlet allow motorhomes to park over night.

The service station i think junction 11 other side of Dublin has Burger King, Good Garage and a few who stay over (Showers and Toilet Facilities)
We travel down during the night to Trabolgan hitting Dublin around 10 ish - break up journey as too much in one run - 6hr from Belfast - 7 Bushmills?

Junction 14 on M7 at Monasterevin allows over night parking. Park in truck area. The food side closes at midnight so it quieten down alot. There are toilets available 24 /7. It is about 35 to 40 minutes south of dublin's M50 with no traffic. A word of advice, avoid the M7 between 4 and 7 pm midweek because traffic is horrible between the M50 and M9 exit off the M7.
The Midway hotel at junction 17 Portlaoise ( old Cork Rd) is another spot. It has a food court which also closes each evening at about 11pm. It is only about 200 yards from the motorway .
On the app there's two stops in the general area but I would choose the above instead

Not sure if you need to come down as far as roscrea area, if you do, The Barak Obama plaza allows motorhomes to overnight at back in area where trucks park. stayed there twice.

Just to advise that we settled on Treacys bar/restaurant Portlaoise and cannot recommend it highly enough. Food is fantastic, great portions, reasonably priced with superb customer service. We even had one of the kitchen ladies come out to offer us water, tea etc. the following morning before we left. Turns out she is a motorhomer too!!

Fantastic place we stayed there a few weeks back and even had electric hook up at the side of the pub. As has been said, the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. I can’t recomment it too highly.

Stopped there last October on way to bunratty. Had a meal and a pint. Great spot. Didn’t stay over but seen a fella come In and ask for keys to shower room, and thought, isn’t that brilliant. Great atmosphere and great food. Lovely staff. Highly recommended
