Anyone know if there is a place close to Cairnryan port where I can park up for a few hours. Ferry crossing is nightime so wan to get a few hours rest.

If coming from north I use girvan harbour
If coming from south I use Portpatrick harbour

I use the long stay car park in Stranraer its very quite.

Iv used Girvin & Portpatrick both great spots, also there is a good layby about 1 mile out of Stranraer towards Carinryan with great views over the sea, I normally grab a chinky from Stranraer & stop of there for a few hours before our boat normally around 12midnight...

I have stayed over night in lay by near the ferry terminal. Don't think they will let you park over night in the terminal because they won't.

I'd avoid parking at the terminal until you need to, not a bit of peace to be had

I've stayed in a layby about a mile from Stranrear on the seashore, great views, quiet and loads of room.

Well Stena would not allow me to park overnight in June this year.

who did you ask?
I didnt ask any one, there is no one to ask, the reception area is locked up - I get the 23.00 from Belfast. I drive off the ferry straight into the carpark put the kettle on have a cup of tea and go to sleep!
I have also stopped in the long stay carpark at Holyhead again no problems - although its a bit of a dump, stopped over at Birkenhead once but that was years ago in the days of Norse ferries so that might have changed although I would doubt it. Dublin is a bit of a problem as there are height bars at the carpark but as I was on the first ferry out I just parked in the check in lane - no problems

I asked at the first part of the check in and I should have to say the guy was down right rude to me so my attitude was piss off then. I haven sailed with Stena since. Lol
