There was a post update in the subscribed members section.
As a Cornish man from port Isaac others may know it as Port Wenn. Who now lives in Ireland because it's like Cornwall was 40 years ago I would give some advice:
From north or South Wales to Cornwall it is a long journey and personally I wouldn't do it in one day, so look to break the journey, Somerset has plenty of options. Avoid July and August if you don't like queues, traffic and expensive prices. Don't travel on changeover day, Saturday.
The A30 can be as bad as the M25. If your route/destination allows the A38 or A39 may be longer but more interesting and less busy. Roads can be very busy, narrow, parking can be a problem even in a car. Hills are steep. Pastys are great. The scenery can be amazing.
As for where to go, there is loads to see and do.
Proper job.

hi murphy59,i would agree with everything Strandcamping said including the trip from wales!.also the a30 is undergoing upgrade so they work eve/night and detour, so at night it was fun! but you will enjoy.
