U.K. Vans not able to watch tv

Hi all we have some people from Yorkshire on the campsite who can't get their TV to work, strange as this may sound I don't watch tv so I have no idea how things work is there a different system in ROI to the uk? Can they simply retune their tv or is it more complex than this?
Any help or advice really appreciated.

the TV needs to be Saorview or MPEG-4 compatible. They can buy a Saorview box from an electrical retailer and use it with their TV.

If the TVs is modern it's possible it's mpeg4 (soar view compatible stuff)
Go into menu select Ireland as the country and retune, failing that open a beer and enjoy the good weather as Irish TV is usually rubbish most of the time

TV's sold for early (non HD) Freeview in the UK can only receive MPEG2 transmissions. Saorview uses the newer MPEG4 standard.
For people from the UK a Freeview HD TV, which has MPEG4 receiving capability, is needed to receive Saorview.
