Ok, installed app and told app will be installed soon on my device. I'am not very au fait with technical stuff so let's wait and see. This looks like an ideal app for forward use. Well done to technical staff.

I am almost 100% confident that the link that Ally just posted will fix the problem...

The GoogleMap object is null (i got sent the stacktrace) and that indicates that Google Play Services are not up to date...

As far as I am aware kindle devices must use the Amazon App Store and not google play store. The Motorhome parking app is on Google play store.

Hi,

I think you will remain an unhappy camper with my answer ...

In theory this can be done... It certainly would take an amount of hoop jumping on your part.

I did look to put the app on the Amazon Store, but even if that is done, and it is not an inconsiderable effort form my side, I have no way of testing that it will work. My main fear is that Google Play Services will not work correctly.

I would be willing to throw a test version together for you, to see if the basic stuff can work. You would need to sideload the app though and possibly also install a working version of Google Play Services. I am not even sure if that is possible without rooting the phone first.

I am not familiar with Kindle Fire, so I have never done that and I don't know if that is even possible. If you want to try that, first check out sideloading apps on the device and let me know if you would like the test version .. If that works, then I would be confident that an Amazon port would work correctly .. However it will be at least a month before I could even begin to take on the Kindle port.

There is a certain irony in the fact that it is easier to rewrite this for iOS and get it working on an apple iPhone ( I have already started this) than to get the android version working on a Kindle. You can blame Amazon for that.

Apologies in advance for asking an unpopular question but, is this full length feature i.e . over 400 POI's accessible to paid up members or is there a further subscription required ?? IF this has being covered already - I do Apologize.
Well done to ALL involved .

Niall

If you are referring to the map it's available to you but if it's the new app then the main app is free but all the additional POI's require an additional annual subscription, the reason for this is that it's constantly being worked on by software engineer /company, hosted by Google /apple and new additional features being added, these all have costs which can't be absorbed with the membership fee for here

You will know we don't like promising dates, the ios version has taken longer than we had expected, but WE HOPE to have a beta ready for testing this Friday and the ios APP to be ready in the APP store by the end of next week. Again, no promises :) these things take time and we want to get it right, as much as we can, first time.

You just log in on the new phone with the same Google account as the last one and it will pick up the payment.

The payments are handled by Google, if it is not recognising your payment and you are using the same Google Account then I'm afraid you will have to contact them, they are good to work with and will usually rectify it in no time.
