Finally fitted the Maxview Crank up Satellite Dish I bought from Donagheys last year, Now I am looking for a HD receiver to complete the installation. What 12V Box's are you Guy's using and what are the pro's and con's with what is available out there? Any advice is appreciated and thanks in advance.

I bought a 4ife 401 combo Box which I was assured was 12v but when it came it was 240v so I returned it. I did try it out but all I got was mostly German and other European Channels, I also thought the Box was going to be pre programmed but it wasnt.

If you get the 12v for life one I can email you the file with the channels pre saved, all you need to do is copy it to a usb stick and save a copy to the 4life combo box

Thanks John, I don't think they exist, They apologised for sending me the wrong information and offered to take it back.

Had a quick look Jon, looks good but do you need a constant internet connection to view tv?

Why not get a tv with the decoder built in, Avtex and Cello do them

I actually have a Cello with a decoder built on John and was thinking that way myself but I don't have a manual and when I showed it to a TVs guy he advised me to get a combo box. I must look into trying to get a manual on the net

I have one as well, again no idea where the manual is, although they are simple to operate. Select the satellite point the dish at it and away you go.

Meant to say, if thats what you have then why bother with another box drawing power, never had an issue with the built in, it was actually why I bought it in the first place.

We have an avtex TV with built in sat receiver. Works great.
It means no cupboard space used up by a box and only one remote.

Must check that one out,Dave!
I thought the Cello that was in the Motorhome when I bought it was Satellite prepared but I don't think so now even though the remote has the satellite buttons, I cant find any place to plug in the lnb to it.

Look all around the tv, the screw on bit could be anywhere on it!

I have a feeling this is the model I have...
