Fridge not working on gas

Hi, question please: fridge is a Dometic, model RM 6271, auto igniter. Fridge failed to ignite on gas so put it on electric. Tried repeatedly to ignite it randomly over several and several campsites. Then it ignited immediately several days later, not problem. Failed now again, despite several efforts.
When I hold the igniter the clicking is strong, and the lights stays flashing. Sometimes there is a small 'wooooff'' sound like a flame blowing out.
Several people suggest blowing out the valve, but how do I do that? From rear? What's the valve look like?? Any difficulty/danger doing this in view of gas presence?

Next stop might be service.
Regards
Franco

Had a similar problem a few months ago, was caused by the gas jet being partially blocked by bits of debris. Whole jet assembly had significant signs of heat.

Replaced whole jet assembly which cost about £60. A blow out with an airline may have worked but I bit the bullet and replaced the assembly. Access is from outside the van via the lower vent. Jet assembly was behind a metal plate at the bottom right looking at rear of fridge. Standard hand tools only needed but watch you don't loose the actual jet which seems to just sit into the assembly.

Will look at it tomorrow in daylight at this stage. Where did buy the replacement unit?

See attached link which shows exploded view of burner assembly at bottom - part 108.

My fridge was a different model to yours; looks like your burner assembly is on the left rather than the right.

I bought my replacement from LTS in Magheralin (see advert at top of MHC home page) they had them is stock

Hi Fraco
We had to get our fridge serviced while on holiday in France.
It would only cool the icebox and the fridge itself not at all. They said that the fridge should be serviced at least every three years.Regards Michael

My advice to you is go to a dealer and have it repaired properly, gas is not something for the lay man to mess with.
I suggest you contact Gerry or Pat in Maynooth Motorhomes 08683428 or 0872419532.

Thanks folks for Advice, Tks Breeze.
Looked behind the grill today, and to be honest I felt totally inadequate to look further. I later phoned Matnooth MH and tend bringing it to them for service as I have 2 or 3 other issues to sort. Thanks to all for help and advise. Much appreciated.
