Thought about this when we were in Port Laoise, but ended up we're going to north coast with friends from caravan days.

For anyone going to the ploughing championship,STENA LINE have a stand.
It's at BLOCK 3,ROW 35,STAND 680.
It might be worth checking them out if anyone wants to, in case they have any offers for next year.
There was a 20% offer on, last year, for sailings to France.
Site map below.

site map of the ploughing championship

One of the best quotes I have heard in a long time, on RTE News a young girl is asked about what she thought of the ploughing championship..

"It's Electric Picnic for farmers"

Reminds me John of a neighbour back in the 1970's who fitted a BMC 1.5 Diesel engine in a Triumph 2000 and had a Ferguson 20 exhaust standing vertical up through a hole in the Bonnet

Paddy went to plough his field with a steam roller. Murphy said he couldn't plough with a steam roller. However Murphy was more contented when Paddy told his crop was mashed potatoes. :D

Anyone know if Stena will be offering a 20% discount during the Ploughing Championship like last year? Just booked ours a few days beforehand- don't want to miss out this year!
