Fiamma Clean step

 ·

Hi has anyone got the Fiamma Clean step fitted to their steps. Our dog is getting old and whilst he can get up and down the steps ( electric and two steps) he clatters the metal steps and sometimes loses grip.
So i was wondering by fitting the Clean Step it may give him more grip.
In particular do you leave them on and are they thin enough that the steps will retract and extend with them on.

Thanks

Tim B

I have seen another Craicer who made a ramp for the dog and it worked very well

Made a ramp for our dog. He used it for a while but then decided he’d prefer to go in and out the front passenger door. Go figure,

hi all thanks for responses. I got a dog ramp but he will NOT go up it even for cheese!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think a bit of carpet on the steps would work, he would have more grip. 4 paw drive !!!!

My main concern was do these stay on and allow the steps to retract or do you have to put them on and off everytime you put steps up and down

Tim there is product that is used on motorhome and coachbuilt vans, where you lay a layer of adhesive and then scatter fine grit on it to give a non slip surface. This would not stop the step from closing and give him his grip to get up. Have you got a bodybuilder nearby or perhaps try Ebay.

Our 11 year old Lab uses a ramp covered in carpet for grip. Occasionally she needs a tug on her collar, but she is so keen to get in her mobile kennel!

Hi Tim

The clean step mat only works on the drop down step but not on the straight slide out step. They stay on the whole time and are a good job to stop you slipping, I have one on my own step

Hi Peter, we have a Carado A366 purchased from yourself!!!!!! so are you saying i can fit two on our steps and leave them on.

Also your parts for motorhomes web site seems to take ages to load, took 20 mins yesterday when i was looking at price of the clean step, i gave up, and we have 150mbps fibre here

The home made one in the linked post above is mine. It works fine and is secured by cable ties underneath.
It stays on all the time. We have only had a few trips since making it but all good so far.
The carpet is the rubber backed type used at the entrance to supermarkets.
