Truma Combi Heating System

Hi There,

I'd be grateful if somebody could solve my problem. I have a Dethleffs for the past 2 years and I can't seem to get a handle on the heating system. I've youtube'd it to death but I still can't seem to get the heating to work on electric only.

Is it possible or do you have to have both gas/elec working together? When I turn my dial to electric nothing happens.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is there actually an electrical element installed. Some are gas only, but may have switch for electric as well.

Firstly I don't have one .but advise ,in order to get some help, can you supply.
What is the model ( there are several )
Have you any photos of the unit and the control panel that you could post.
What if anything have you checked.
For instance.
is there power going to it.( 220volt )
Is it full of water.
Is there any warning lights on the panel
What exactly is on the panel when you try it.

Truma Heating Controls.jpg

I don't know if I've added the pic, hopefully I have. The left one is for Electric Hookup, the right one is for water & heating.

It's a 2006 Dethleffs 6 berth. The power is hooked up. Is it full of water? I don't know how to find that out.

I had a query on my older combi boiler and someone shared a PDF link to it. I’ve tried different versions of the link to see if I can get a menu page to choose by model. Maybe someone can figure something out from part of this link. I found it very useful for understanding my boiler so there must be a PDF for the later models online somewhere.

Thanks for the feedback. It's worked grand on gas for the past 2 years, I'm just wondering if it can be worked solely on electric.
The first panel on the pic stated EH (electric hookup) 230v and when I just turn on the left panel dial to electric no light comes on and no heat comes out!

Maybe it's called 'combi' because they both have to work in combination with one another - electric + gas.

This is their description.

Truma Combi heaters combine two functions in one appliance. They warm the living area and heat water in the integrated stainless steel tank. Depending on the model, Combi heaters can be used in gas, electric, diesel or mixed mode.
So from this you need to get the model and serial no ,to find out what exactly you have fitted.
Have you considered bringing it to someone like Anchor Point and ask them ,how it should work and if you have s problem.

Do you have a panel for battery, lights, water pump? If so, ensure lights button is switched on. Mine is like yours and won't work without the lights button being on.
