Red injection warning light permanently on and massive loss of power. Happened quite unexpectedly with no previous problems. Vehicle is 2004 with 30,000 miles. Would really appreciate recommendations for a suitable garage/ diesel specialist to take it to in Belfast area.
Many thanks.

Had you just filled with diesel before it happened?
Is it long since last service?

Have you tried the electrical connections on the injectors? One may be loose.

First check the fuel filter is not blocked check that the lead going to the injectors are not corroded if you know anyone with a dinonostic machine they should be able to pinpoint the problem

Many thanks for all the helpful advice. Took MH along to my usual garage and diagnostics showed fault with No4 injector probably electric connection.
Booked in for Tuesday with auto electric garage for attention.
Hopefully sorted - many thanks again.

Hi there,
A problem with the electrical connection on injector 4 is a well known issue and is caused by the wiring loom being too short.

Fiat even have a replacement part available to sort the issue.

It happened to me and I bought and fitted the part myself

Make sure you inform your garage that this is a common fault or it will cost you a lot more than it should.

Sorry but I dont have a part number but it was baiscally a new connector with two longer wires out of it. I simply cut off the old one and connected in the new one

Hope this helps
Raymond

I think this is the part you need. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Cable-R…1969249067? you should be able to get it locally.

Hi Avondale,

If you need any verification on Parts / Diagrams send me your Chassis number and I'll check with Fiat's official Catalogue.
We are Fiat a Dealer based in Dublin.

As yours is a 2004 the format should be "ZFA2440000*******"

Finya is also correct about the mod Fiat did with the wiring harness (see attached link)

You might also want to carry out a 'Diesel leak off test' This measure the efficiency of the actual injectors, it takes about 30 mins to carry out if your mechanic has the kit.

Hope that helps.

P.S - I have been in touch with Ally (site owner) about assisting the members here with whatever we can.
We are a camper friendly Fiat workshop in Dublin beside the Airport. If we can assist with anything such as Parts and pricing, wiring diagrams, Service Manuals, Warranty issues, Workshop times or just a general query or guidance on anything Fiat related send us a message here. If its more technical ring us or call in when your passing.

Regards
Lee
