Passing through Howth today, so I decided to look and see if campers were parking.
There were 2 smallish campers, one from GB and one from France, parked rear-on adjacent to the fishing boats. I noticed that there are now plastic barriers along the length of the pedestrian walkway, so bigger campers cannot overhang the walkway, and if they do park their cabs will be well out on the road.
There are also 2 derelict/abandoned?? old campers, there for many months now. Also 1 caravan.
In theory one could park length-ways on the other side of the road, as there were no cars there and the weather suggests none would want to park that far away from the town’s facilities at present.
Not very satisfactory.

Pity about Howth, our van is 6.5 m. What about Greystones? Hope to go to Dublin in the next few weeks. Any suggestions please. Friends of ours tell us its now e15 for 24 hours in Malahide as opposed to e10 last time we stayed there.

You are parking in spaces designed for cars so you will be a bit long but probably OK but not wanted , fart in a spacesuit springs to mind
Bus from Camac takes about 1 .30 hours to do a 30 Min journey it goes all over the south West suburbs on the way to city centre

We have stayed the last few times in Skerries and there’s a bus service in to Dublin. I won’t be back near Howth again.

Our van is 7 Mts long. Does anyone know if we will fit in skerries?? I usually fit in a bay by letting the overhang go back beyond the bay. Is this feasible in Skerries or is their a path at the back of the parking bays??

Elmo, there are two areas of free parking in skerries. Both of them have parking parraleel to the footpath, so you dont have to worry about overhang. If you are heading down, you will probably have to park at the far end of the road, as bus commuters tend to take the free parking near Gerrys supermarket. if i was travelling and coming from the rush direction, i would travel as far as the roundabout at the monument, go straight through, vere right around the corner and vere right again bringing the strand on your left. The free parking will be marked on the left and if there is none available here, carry on past the toilets and the free parking starts again to the end of the road.

Excellent, thanks guys.

I see on the app that there is a place that does a nice steak near the monument and we are looking forward to it :-)

Mark.
