Hi all,
I am wondering if anyone from this forum will be wild winter campervaning in Ireland this year?
Also it would be interesting to hear from anyone's past experiences of this.
I have wild camped many times with no problems and really enjoy it but get a bit lost for company sometimes. I live off grid, fish and forage enjoy home cooked food and a wee dram.
I hope this post draws some interest and replies.
All the best,
Do-Ron.

I do some wild camping over the winter. Usually only decide at last minute which direction I'm heading though. If the weather is too bleak I tend to try stay near some form of civilisation, or just decide not to travel. Tend to bring all my provisions with me, not really a bear grylls lad

Never stop, Motorhome all year round.

Not sure about wild, there is a couple of wild parkers and wild people in Motorhomecraic :D but once we get the heaters on sure it's like sitting at home without the hassles.

One thing that has became apparent, people tend to stick closer to home, I suppose if they are working and leave on a Friday it's pitch black and returning on a Sunday it could be dark. So no one wants to go that far if it's just for a winter weekend.

So best solution for company, post where you are going and find out if people in your area want to meet up, that's one of the many reasons for the website.

Like Ally and a few others we're out all year, this year though I'm trying to persuade the old bird to go to southern Spain. Just straight down and back a few weeks later. Alfy and Catherine did it last year and lapped it up.

Its better there at this time of year than mid July as the temp is down to more manageable levels, every time we are out at the house over winter there are loads of motorhomes about

We motorhome all year round, why buy a house on wheels and then park it in the yard? If fishing is your hobby then stick to the coast and you can fish all year as well as motorhoming.
Feel free to fire the questions and the answers will come back.

With the wifey and our two dogs, we have all the company we need, so we're happy out to wild camp. Long way to retirement unfortunately, but weekend getaways are mighty still!!!

Can't speak about winter as we just recently got the camper, but the idea is to keep going through out the year... we actually have about 10 days stay-cation planned for the end of this month, so we'll see how it goes.

Cheers,
Rami

I managed to crack the obstacle preventing the missis and me from wintering in Spain. I talked her round, or maybe, wore her down. So we're off on 6th December for three months. Hear that Alfie?

Now your talking ,that what retirement is for. :sun:  8-)

Now that's it , we don't need to hear any more ,some of us are not so persuasive and have to stay at home. Keep checking the garage for stowaways.
