I grabbed some buds in supervalu tonight on the way home. Just poped the second one there now. ED Stafford on the telly, plodding through a desert in Bolivia.

At 24 and 27, one teaching in NUIG, and the other an accountant with KPMG, I was hoping for some payback. Not a hope, still paying out. Only large one offs now, not drip feeding them like before

There is an old recognized way of getting your children to move on, takes a bit of forward planning .
When they get to be about 14 for Girls and 16 for boys , you have to cut down on the quality and quantity of the food on the table and in the fridge , then you need to go out more especially in the afternoon / evening ( with the savings made you will be able to afford a few regular treats for yourself and Wife/Husband ) on these days forget to do the washing up and laundry, general tidying up . By the time they reach 19 or 20 they will be so pi***d off with having nothing to wear , no food and never anyone at home , they will decide I'm out of this " kip" I would be better off in a flat with my mates .
When they are gone , change the locks, get a cleaner in, load the fridge.
ORRRRRR. Buy a motor home and squander their inheritance .

We are emptying the fridge here. Currently on Bombay gin with extra dry vermouth served on crush ice with a slice of lime.
We have about enough for 2 rounds.
