Headlights alignment on left hand drive

I have a retest for the cvrt on friday, and one of the issues was the lights on my l/h drive Ducato. Has anyone used Beam deflectors, and are they acceptable for the cvrt?

Yes - we have beam deflectors on our van and they are indeed accepted. In fact they were the only note on ours for this year - to change them before the next test as they've "seen better days!"

I had a couple of issues.
wheel bearing too tight on the passenger rear,
hand brake adjustment,
headlight alignment, so that info on the deflectors is great news.
The one i worried about, fuel leaking into the engine, got sorted handy enough in the end, so Im not as apprehensive returning for the retest.
I should say, my mechanic sorted all this, not me, so maybe it wasnt as handy as thought :D

We got a call a few years ago from the CVRT tester to let is know the price (buttons) for fixing this and asking if we wanted him to go ahead with correcting it. Saved a lot of time and hassle as it was the only issue preventing a pass (not sure if they usually do this though?!).

I have a left left hand drive and passed the test no problem in march 2015, it even passed with the original lights and no beam bender. Things changed in 2017 when the beam alignment tester was hooked up to the computer, the lights failed the test with or without beam benders. i had no choice but to buy a new set of right hand drive lamps from Micks garage and put them on for the test. Staff in the garage next door to the test centre agreed that my original lights would pass any test apart from CVRT test connected to a computer. I know this sounds stupid but it's true test was in Kilkenny .

Beam deflectors are easily fitted to the older vans with glass lens, due to the markings in the glass.
We have a lefthand 2010 transit with plastic lens so its takes a half hour to set each lamp with a beam tester and alot of fit and refit the bender. I am seriously considering buying a pair of right hand lights for the irish test and use the original lamps for Europe.

If the deflectors dont work, thats what i will do doing. Have a feeling i will need to change them.

Spoke to mechanic John. Apparently two pipes were corroded, nothing major, easy fix.

On the glass lens, there are marking to indicate the positioning of the beam benders. Market leadings brands ( most expensive ) often have extra info with measurements from the top and the side.
I am lucky because my local mechanic allows me to use his beam alignment machine outside of working hours, but it's still a pain in the backside.

They work perfectly. Just follow instructions included. I done mine at night about 8ft from a wall......Do a trial fit first to make sure its in the desired location.
