Super looking plan.
Jealous of you UK folk who have access to all the ferry options.

We've booked September too, but we have a flexi fare and looking at postponing till late Sept/Oct and heading further south to Spain/Portugal.

My downside is the 300 mile trip down to Dover and having to pass Birmingham on the M6/M5.
Was in France late September and beginning of October last year and also in 2014 it was late October /beginning of November and was still warm.

Nice!
A few remarks. For free wild s:
The Belgium coast is a no go area for mororhomes, but you may like the old city of Gent For free wild places around, look at bipa.be.
Also, the southwest of Holland is not very welcoming. However, Middelburg is an old city (especially the town house). And at least this year, it has some stopovers. Driving from there to Dusseldorf, you might want to stop at Maastricht, a great old. cosy town. If you're lucky, you might assist at one of André Rieus concerts at the Vrijthof Place.Theres an expensive stopover i Maastricht itself, but just over the Belgian border (in Lanaken) you're free to stay.

Thanks Peter , the only stop on the Belgium coast will most probebly be Ostend ( i have stayed but my other half has never been) BIPA.be is a great site (will put on sat nav) . A story about Ghent ,I was going to stop a few years ago and parked in a lay-by just outside town on the tram route , As i was exploring the map there was loud beeping of a horn and a tram at the back of me that could not pass . I moved on and did not explore Ghent and often wonder where they would have towed my van to if that tram had turned up a bit later and i wasn't in the van

Don't know when you were at Oostende, but check. Not sure, but I seem to remember the only stopover that was legal over there was closed some years ago.
As for Gent, we stayed for free at a parking next to the Watersportbaan. No services, but then again, it's free. It's got a bus stop to the town centre. Remember when the last bus goes, night bus doesn't go there. So we had to walk 3 kilometers when we were tired...

Ostende was nearly 10 years ago, parking was close to town and rail station and a park with a lake. Have checked and yes it looks as though it has gone.
EDIT, It is still on search for sites ,
