Alternative to Happy Bowl

 ·

Happy Bowl has just been stupid prices all over the internet.

So I sought an alternative. Sheet of Kitchen Roll is the correct size but it gets stuck in the cassette as it doesn't break up.

I tried some Bio Degradable Kitchen Roll, wasn't sure if it would break up quick enough but it worked perfectly, it dissolves as quick as the Happy Bowl :)

I have only tried one type, search google for: Greencane - Kitchen Towels

50 Sheets of Happy Bowl can be as much as £11

Greencane is two rolls of 70 sheets, so 140 sheets for around £3

I checked their website. Have you tried this; Greencane 100% Biodegradable Toilet Paper 4 Pack.

??

That's not what it's for. Need big sheets such as kitchen roll to act as Happy Bowl.

Or are you asking if I have tried the loo roll also? Then, No.

:D

Oh right; I get it now!! Missed the point. I'd never heard of liners. Was wondering why you were using kitchen roll in the loo.

Ally,
I have an automatic search set up on eBay for those..... Have a few boxes I got at £6.99 each, Free P&P
They are listed now and again at a good price, the automatic search sends you an email when they are listed.

Seen them at that price also, on occasions as you say. Still not as good value as the Greencane.

Happy Bowl: 50 sheets £6.99

or

Greencane: 140 sheets £3.00

You do know that, as with a portaloo, you should lubricate the bowl with water before you go! Helps it all slip down. Or is this bulls###.

Just in case I have not posted this before.
I keep a washing up liquid bottle full of water by the toilet
A well directed squirt of water after your business is done, is way more effective that the thetford flush
and does not fill the cassette as fast. O-)

Which is correct, leave some water in the bottom of the bowl or not.

Leaving some water stops the smells same as the U-Bend in the toilet and sinks at home.

ally is a clever guy, and he knows how to save money,he has my full support on this.
every time i sat down for one, i was thinking - thats another 20p gone, and hasn't he just
freed up more money for beer?
i admit ,i have not done the full calculation---but,
if a tin of carlsberg costs around 80p, then for every 5 shits,(without the happy bowls ,but including
a portion for kitchen roll,- well you are ahead.
portaloos are crap.

I've been using an old Fairy liquid bottle with soapy water to wet the bowl before use.

But just ordered a pack of 50 Happy Bowls @ £9.25 on eBay. Not seen them yet, but it looks like a great idea.
