Pyrenees campsite question

Ran into a local couple in France, from Comber, she was local and her husband was Scottish (members?). They highly recommended a campsite in the Pyrenees that was overlooking the valley, as opposed to down in the valley like most. You came to the campsite from the Spanish side of the border, but it was IN France, up a very winding road.
Ring any bells with anyone? I've tried Google, without luck, heading that direction tomorrow. Currently in Biarittz

Thanks in advance.

Could be anywhere really. We have been in Aires at Cauterets, Luchon, payole, Gavarnie and lots of other Pyrenees locations and they all have lots of campsites to choose from. Coming in from Spain narrows it a bit, but can't offer any help.

We left the milady Aire in Biarritz a few days back, moved to the Anglet Aire, wildcamped at caseljoux for a stage of Le tour and are now on the Aire at Le roque gageac in the Dordogne. Sarlat tomorrow for the fireworks.

Enjoy your trip. If you are heading into Spain check out the picos de Europe mountain range. Epic. And reasonably near beach towns like Ribesella.

Don't you have any idea of the area where it must be? I looked after all campings just at the border coming from spain, but couldn't find it. BTW: I tried to find the place this couple came from, hoping the camping would be around this place. But there must be a misspelling. There is nog village called Comber

Yes, that road between Arrens and Laruns is a beautiful drive , just be careful of meeting another MH or a lorry on this section . This is us checking it out on the scooter before we took the MH on it.

That's us just home tonight. 2960 miles (so much for doing less than last year) in 18/19 days. The wife was taking notes all the way so assume she's going to do a review at some point. Used a lot of the information off here for where to visit, but largely used trip advisor and similar to find camp sites. Stayed at one Aire (Puy du Fou) and 3 wild camps (where we left it too late trying to find something, or had no choice). 36mpg average, 120 euro in tolls, 435 euro on diesel, 326 euro on campsites. Made a mistake in booking Dover/Calais thinking we'd leave it to the last minute, see what ferry we were going to catch once we got around the M25. Big mistake, the price doubled from what it had been the night before . Lesson learned. £400 quid on ferries (taking mistake into account). We made it down the Atlantic coast and into the Pyrenees, but only halfway across them (although we did WALK into Spain at one point). We used Puy du Fou as our halfway point on the way back (amazing place), stopping in for two days, which left us doing Calais in one day and kipping in the M25 services on the way back (not pleasant). Anyway I'll post more later, thanks to all for the help in organising the trip!!
