Motorhome Insurance

Hi

Just rang Dolmen Insurance and got quote for €344 based on van we are looking at. Stuarts are €325. I see that members of IMCC get discounts. Is the discount more than the membership of €40 and worth it with extras?
Dolmen did not mention about a discount if I was a member of IMCC.

Thx
Gerard

To my knowledge and experience Dolmen discount is €100 but you must produce IMCC insurance card. Joining IMCC is a long process.

Most clubs have Discounted Insurance for members, €100 sounds to be a big discount, I think the Phoenix Club is only €15, I believe the Munster Club is much larger than that. I also think people Joining Clubs only to get Discounted Insurance are not of much of an asset to a club.

Thx for replies.

I just seen it mentioned about the discount. Haven't really looked into being a member but I see the they "Our aims are to promote and encourage motor caravanning" which I am all for.

Just found out Stuarts have a 30 day European cover which can be extended to 60 days where as Dolmens is the full 12 months. Dolmen it is then.

Padraig, I am with Dolmens and it is a AXA policy with breakdown cover for home and continent. and it was much cheaper than my last with Aviva.
