Hi all,
here we are total novices,
At the moment we don't even know how to work the cooker! So just to make it interesting our first trip will be to edinburgh to see the Ireland game at Murryfield. We need somewhere to stop between cairnryan and Edinburgh and somewhere to park near the stadium. Having paid for the motor home, the ferry, and the match tickets I really can't afford a campsite as well. All suggestions and advice will be very welcome (including how to work the cooker fridge and tv! ) :(

Whereabouts are based Daisy?
Might be a friendly craicer near by that might show you the workings and save a lot of head scratching for you,

Just a suggestion

No personal experience, but look at this site. It is good for suggestions all over Europe.

https://www.searchforsites.co.uk

Enjoy the trip, the van and the rugby.

Morton hall in Edindurgh is really nice, all facilities and pub too. On bus route to city centre. Its not free but not expensive. Highly recomended. If your there at the right time of year the site is covered in magic mushrooms!

Welcome to motorhomecraic, enjoy the new van and the travels and the gear in the van will come to you as you begin using it.
Someone to show you will be a bonus and get you there quicker..... reminds me of a joke I once heard:

A man jumps out of an airplane with a parachute on his back. As he's falling, he realizes hiss chute is broken. He doesn't know anything about parachutes, but as the earth rapidly approaches, he realizes his options are limited; he takes off the parachute and tries to fix it himself on the way down. The wind is ripping past his face, he's dropping like a rock, and at 5000 feet, another man goes shooting up past him. In desperation, the man with the chute looks up and yells, "Hey do you know anything about parachutes?!"

The guy flying up looks down and yells, "No, do you know anything about motorhome gas ovens ?!"
