We did that route last year, but went in through Germany, Slovakia. Hungary, etc. It's a very special place with amazing POI's. We went down as far as Dubrovnik with the intention of going back via Split, Slovenia, and Italy. We nearly changed direction to go on down to Greece, but time was against us. That part must be class and very different. Slight concerns about Albania though. Unfounded or what?
We're doing the Baltic States and Poland this year.

I need to do a lot of research ... when I get time!!! But I have read a couple of blogs and Albania seems to have been fine / an experience. People stayed on campsites though.
Do you use camper contact and park4night for your POIs?
We're thinking of Poland, Latvia, Lithuania etc at some point, probably 2019!
So much to see ...
Do you blog?
We are in Portugal this winter .... clunegapyears.com

I think Albania like so many of those eastern neighbours have made wild camping illegal, I know its a €60 fine in Croatia. That part of the world is on the radar for us, but first want to get Scandinavia in. So it could be three years away!

I've done the run through the former Yugoslavia at least 10 times, cars, trucks and camper. Albania is beautiful, likewise FYROM, Serbia etc. New campsites springing up all the time. Let me know if you want any specific info.
