Went there two years ago. The cable car was cool. Its a bit rickety buts that's the charm of it
Some lovely walks on the island or for a picnic and on the mainland side as well. Its well worth the trip. There's a basic enough car park beside the cable car station. Cant remember if there was an overhead barrier on it, it was before my motorhome days but from what I can remember there was space to park on the road up to it. its well worth the trip, plan to get there in the early because the cable car only carries a few at the time and from memory the cable car only brings people off the island from 3pm onwards. Even if you didnt get across to the island the drive alone is worth it the scenery is stunning

Smells like "sheep poop" in the cable car. Other than that, its grand. Not sure it'd be in the top 30 on my bucket list though... The road down to the carpark is a bit narrow in places. There is plenty of parking.

Were there a few years back I wouldn't get on the cable car looked a bit wobbly and the previous occupants were a couple of cows and their calfs dread to think what the inside was like after that I have a video of it somewhere and you can hear the cows mooing the whole way accross

we visited this car park and had a look at the cable car and thought NOT for me :o
There was signs to say no overnight parking and about 20 mins after I arrived a man came down the road shouting at the top of his voice you cant park here needless to say I politely told him I was only stopped to have a cup of tea

Very useful videos Tom. Thanks. It hasn't put me off. Thanks also to the others who have given additional information.

Just a matter of when we are down that way.

We Have done it a number of times. It is a great day out try to go as early possible and bring a good packed lunch. The Island might seem small but it takes a fair bit of time to get all the way around.
