Well done and I hope you enjoy it. It might be helpful if you told us roughly where you are as I'm sure there are lots in here who would be able to make suggestions for a few days away.

We live in Skerries Co Dublin, and hoping someone has any suggestions where we could go for a night or 2 to try out motorhome. We have been caravanning for quite some time now so have stayed in the usual caravan parks.
Any help greatly appreciated

Roisin

If I were you I wouldn't go too far for the first. When we got ours we parked it outside the house and stayed in it for a week to get used to things and iron little problems out. How they is just around the corner from you which might be a good place? I suppose it depends on how confident you are and how well you know your van. Wherever you go, I'm sure you'll enjoy it and have a good time.

The payment confirmations go direct to Ally (Douzeper) once he gets it a few minutes, problem is he is away in the van and may not check or be able to check for a few hours.

As they guys have said, Howth could be the perfect first place to go - it'll give you an idea of what you need to know and bring! there's a couple of topics on here you may have seen of lists for your first trip etc. Best of luck with the van and your first trip!

An alternative suggestion is Mullagh Lough on the R194 in Co. Cavan - Google map co-ordinates are 53.816893, -6.968487
It would get you out into the countryside a bit more than Howth harbour.
It is still only approx 90km away.
If you were lucky you might even meet Ally our esteemed boss of Motorhome Craic. He has been seen there occasionally :D
Keep a few cans of Carlberg in your van just in case :D :D
